Prospective on the Recognition of a Palestinian State – Diplomatie N°53, November 2011 -
In this issue of the French journal “Diplomatie” devoted to the geopolitics of gold, Valerie Fert signs an article on the prospective of the recognition of a Palestinian State. This article is based on the Globe Expert’s forward-looking analyses. This article shows the importance of the emotional factors on the Israeli side. It also shows the potential disruptive role of Iran. Ultimately, it points out the crucial character of water issue, not only regarding Israel and Palestine, but also the whole region.
100 Year Starship Study Public Symposium Organized by DARPA and NASA in Orlando (Florida) from September 30 through October 2-
During this symposium, Valerie Fert will give a lecture about “Living the Cradle: Anthropological Background and Process”. She will present the results of the forward-looking analyses on this topic by Globe Expert and different scholars. GMAP members such as Marc Finaud, career diplomat, Special Advisor to the Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), Benoît Forin, economist at the International Banking and Finance Institute of Banque de France, Thierry Lorho, computer scientist and Globe Expert’s designer, François Mabille, professor of international relations at the Catholic University of Lille, Jean Vaissié, chief officer (rtd) of the French Air Force and also Urs Luterbacher, professor of international relations at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva).
The 100 YSS public symposium will present 7 topic tracks, special events, keynote speakers, a Sci fi authors’ discussion panel and exhibits. Attendance to the 100 YSS Symposium is free and open to the public.
The 100 Year Starship™ Study is an effort seeded by DARPA to develop a viable and sustainable model for persistent, long-term, private-sector investment into the myriad of disciplines needed to make long-distance space travel practicable and feasible.
The genesis of this study is to foster a rebirth of a sense of wonder among students, academia, industry, researchers and the general population to consider “why not” and to encourage them to tackle whole new classes of research and development related to all the issues surrounding long duration, long distance spaceflight.

This article shows the deep opposition of the Holy See to liberalism, both economic and political and its increasing involvement in societal and environmental issues as well as a possible rapprochement with the Muslim world.
